Sci-Fi Lampoon Submission Guidelines – Send us your best fantasy, sci-fi, and horror themed humor. We’re looking for flash (under 1000 words) and short fiction (7500 words, MAX), as well as high-res art, lampoon classifieds and ads.

Please use standard manuscript format. While there is no preferred font, please don’t select a font that will make our eyes bleed! We prefer .doc, .docx, or .rtf files. Text within the email body is also acceptable.
Foul language and sexuality are OK if they’re part of the story, but nothing too explicit—we aren’t looking for gore or erotica—it’s a humor rag, not a smut mag, so if it’s funny, it’s all good! Please, no fanfic.
Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please tell us ASAP if your work is selected for publication elsewhere. Multiple submissions are okay, within reason. Try to keep it to just a couple—we don’t need your entire corpus of fiction. Feel free to send up to six pieces of flash fiction. Don’t forget to include your author bio in a separate document!
We can only offer a token payment of $5.00 USD (for now), but you get to know your written work is in print, and the publisher will send you a DRM free copy of the ebook. You keep rights to all your stories. We only want non-exclusive, worldwide, serial rights for electronics and print.
Once you submit, your work will be passed along to our editorial team for review. If you haven’t heard from us after six weeks, feel free to follow up.
Thank you for considering Sci-Fi Lampoon! Good luck, and may the gods grok you

F. A. Q.
Q: Do you accept only sci-fi?
A: We accept humorous speculative fiction, an umbrella genre encompassing narrative fiction with supernatural or futuristic elements. This includes, but is not limited to, science fiction, fantasy, superhero fiction, science fantasy, horror, utopian and dystopian fiction, supernatural fiction as well as combinations thereof.
Q: What kind of short fiction are you looking for?
A: Humor. Satire. Spoof. It can be a humorous take on space operas, a satire of apocalyptic disasters, a spoof of heroic fantasies, fake ads & letters to the editor or a love advice column for human/alien couples. Use your imagination, damnit! Just keep our theme of speculative fiction in mind.
Q: Are you a hard copy magazine or eMag?
A: SciFi Lampoon is available in both print and digital editions.
Q: When will the next issue be released?
A: We aim to be a quadrennial publication, so the next issue should be available soon.
